Is it August already?!!
Yesterday I made a new friend! I dropped by Shelly’s house and she generously passed along a bag full of yarn to me.
I will be using the majority of it for CIC socks and fingerless gloves for the workers. Ihave decided to pass along some of it to others for various personal reasons. I feel that the reason fits well within the original intention of the original donation. There is a lot of yarn here! This will be a great opportunity for me to practice the toeup version of the socks so that I can use up the smaller amounts and work in other colors as needed! Shelly’s girls are really cute and it was so good talking with her.
My husband and I went out to dinner last night, nothing fancy- D’Amico’s in Wayzata- but it was just too hot to sit down to anything heavy or hot. We shared a couple of delicious sandwiches and the sampler salad plate as well as desserts! Key lime and chocolate are our favorites! We sat on the dock where the strong “breeze” kept us quite comfortable. The boats were bouncing around quite a bit - we also met some very nice boaters as well.
August also kicks off the Day of the Dead KAL. I haven’t quite decided what/who I am going to knit yet but I AM going to make the delicious looking empanadas today. I had most of the ingredients in the house and these will make a yummy dessert tonight and will be fun to make.
I have started a new project (ahem). I will post about that later - but I actually only have two things going right now, not counting the ever present dishcloth…
